Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you choose to make purchases, such as your payment instrument number, and the security code associated with your payment instrument. Social Media Login Data. We may provide you with the option to register with us using your existing social media account details, like your Facebook, X, or other social media account. If you choose to register in this way, we will collect certain profile information about you from the social media provider, as described in the section called "How do we handle your social logins?" below.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:

• If collection is clearly in the interests of an individual and consent cannot be obtained in a timely way
• For investigations and fraud detection and prevention
• For business transactions provided certain conditions are met
• If it is contained in a witness statement and the collection is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim
• For identifying injured, ill, or deceased persons and communicating with next of kin
• If we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual has been, is, or may be victim of financial abuse
• If it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province

In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and with the third-party service providers listed below.

We may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

• Vendors, consultants, and other third-party service providers. We may share your data with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place that require them to protect your information and prohibit them from using it for their own purposes.
• Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

The third parties we rely on

The Services are operated with the help of the providers below. Each processes only the information needed for its function, and under its own privacy terms:

• Stripe: payment processing and subscription billing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Google: account sign-in (Google authentication), our AI assistant (Google Gemini), and website analytics (Google Analytics). See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Chatwoot (self-hosted): live customer-support chat running on our own infrastructure, which stores the messages you send and the email address you provide. Chat data stays on our servers and is not shared with a third-party chat vendor.
• Microsoft Azure: cloud hosting and infrastructure on which the Services and our database run. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

In Short: We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the Services, and to understand how they are used.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for these purposes:

• Strictly necessary. Authentication and session cookies set by our login system keep you signed in and secure your account. The Services do not function without these.
• Preferences. We store interface preferences, such as light or dark theme and sidebar layout, in your browser's local storage so the Services remember your choices.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, de-identified usage so we can improve the Services.
• Support. Our support-chat provider sets a cookie so a conversation can continue across visits.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Doing so may affect the availability and functionality of the Services.

In Short: We offer AI-powered features as part of the Services, provided in part through a third-party model provider.

As part of the Services, we offer products and features that use artificial intelligence, including our scoring engine (which rates news and filings for actionability and sentiment) and our AI assistant, "Warren" (together, our "AI Products"). These features are powered by Google's Gemini models.

When you use the AI assistant, the messages you send and any files you upload (such as documents, PDFs, or images) are transmitted to Google to generate a response, and may be combined with content the assistant retrieves from the web at your request. We do not use your uploaded content to train our own or any third party's models. Please do not submit information to the AI Products that you are not authorized to share.

Your use of the AI Products is also subject to Google's applicable terms.

In Short: If you register or log in using a third-party account, such as Google, we may have access to certain profile information about you.

The Services let you register and log in using your Google account. When you choose to do this, we receive certain profile information from Google, which typically includes your name, email address, and profile picture, to the extent you have made it available.

We use the information we receive only for the purposes described in this notice or that are otherwise made clear to you on the Services. We do not control, and are not responsible for, how Google uses your personal information; please review their privacy policy to understand their practices.

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and to comply with our legal obligations.

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes set out in this notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example, tax, accounting, or other legal requirements, which typically apply to payment and invoicing records).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because it is stored in backup archives), securely store it and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

The Services are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from them. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable steps to delete the information. In some regions, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right to:

• restrict the processing of your personal information;
• data portability, where applicable; and
• object to the processing of your personal information.

If we rely on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this notice.

In Short: If you are a resident of certain US states, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we maintain about you, and to ask that it be corrected or deleted.

Depending on your state of residence (for example, California), you may have the right to request access to your personal information, to request its correction or deletion, and to opt out of certain processing.
